In 1905 Konstantin Melnikov started studying at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and graduated from its department of painting in 1914 and of architecture in 1917. In 1918 he joined the Moscow City Construction Department, where he worked with other famous architects as the Vesnin brothers and Ilia Golosov. Melnikov is best known for his constructivist buildings (including his own domicile, now the Melnikov House) in Moscow. |
