| Mavrina was born as Tatiana Lebedeva but adapted her mother's name Mavrina around 1930. She studied 1923-1927 at the VkhuTein.in Moscow. From 1928 she worked for the journal Krasnaia Niva. Since 1930 she illustrated more than 100 children's books.
