Boris Margo studied 1919-1924 at the the Polytechnical institute in Odessa. In 1924 he was granted a year at the Moscow Vkhutemas and in 1927 a year with Pavel Filonov in Leningrad. In 1928 he graduated from the Odessa Polytechnical Instutite and was granted a to study abroad. In 1929 he went to Montreal (Canada) where he worked as a muralist before he in 1930 immigrated to New York city. In 1940 he started living in Provincetown (Mass).
