Manievich studied from 1903 to 1905 at the Kiev Art Institute and from 1905 to 1907 at the Academy of art in Munich. In 1940 he moved to Moscow and in 1917 to Kiev where he was appointed at the Academy of Art. In 1919 his son was killed in one of the pogroms that swept the Ukraine following the Russian revolution. In 1921 he emigrated to New York where he lived and worked. |
