Losin graduated 1956 from the Moscow Surikov Art Institute under Boris Dekhterev. He is an honoured artist of the Russian Federation. He started illustrating children's books and magazines since the 1950s. He was a prolific contributor to the children's magazines 'Murzilka' and 'Veslye kartinki'.
