Lobanov graduated 1906 from the Commercial College and enrolls at the studio of Aleksandr Mikhailovskii, a pupil of Repin. From 1908 to 1913 at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under K. Korovin and S. Maliutin.
