Lissner studied 1900-08 at the Imperial Academy in St. Petersburg. In 1905 he had to flee Russia and went to Berlin and Paris. In 1912 he returned to Petersburg where he taught his niece Elena Liessner-Blomberg. After the revolution he was active in Moscow.
