Lipchitz started his career by sculpting bread. From 1909 to 1910 Lipchitz studied at the 'Ecole des Beaux Arts' under Ingalbert, later he went to study under Verlet at the 'Académie Julian'. 1924 he becomes a French citizen. The German invasion forced Lipchitz to leave France for New York. Since 1947 he lived in Hastings-on-Hudson. |
