In 1933, Lindeberg, son of a railway engineer, started evening classes at the Tauride Art School. After graduating in 1938 he taught drawing at the same school. During war he served in the defense of Leningrad and lost his right hand. Using his left hand he continued drawing and creating graphic series mostly about animals. He also resumed teaching at the Tauride Art School.
