Organ of the Leningrad branch of the Soviet Union of Writers. A bimonthly magazine with socio-political, literary and artistic
contents. The magazine was 1925-1939 published under the title 'Rezets' (Chisel). In August 1946
the magazine was banned by decree of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party because of the publications by Akhmatova and Zoshchenko.
This decree was cancelled in October 1988. In total 105 number were
published as follows: in 1940, no. 1-24; 1941, no. 1-14; 1942, no. 1-7; 1943,
no.1-11; 1944, no. 1-14;
1945, no. 1-24; 1946, no. 1-11. The LS Collection holds 19 issues (31
numbers)
