Larionov studied from 1898 to 1900 at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1900 he was expelled. That year with Natalia Goncharova. The were lifelong partners. In 1906 he visited Paris and developed his Neo-primitivist style and in 1913 the Rayonist style. In 1915 he left Russia and worked for Diaghilev's Ballets-Russes. Together with Gontcharova he lived and worked in Paris. He is one of the inventors of modern world art and one of the most important Russian avant-garde artist. |
