Kudriashov studied from 1913 to 1917 at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. After the revolution he studied at the Moscow Svomas where he studied under Malevich and met with Ivan Kliun, Naum Grabo, Anton Pevzner and other avant-garde artists. In 1920 he organized a branche of Malevich's UNOVIS in Orenburg. In 1925 he joined the artist group OST. Ivan Kudriashov  belongs to the younger group of the Russian avant-garde.
