Krichevskii studied at the Kharkov railway school and started as a draftsman in the Kharkov regional counsil. He became one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts where he taught from 1917 to 1922. In 1943 he moved to Lvov and then to his son in Paris. In 1948 he settled in Caracas where his daughter lived.
