An illustrated monthly for primary and secondary school children. Starting in June 1936, the magazine was published in 6 issues that year and in 12 issues from 1937 to 1940. It was published in 8 issues in 1941, in 6 issues (12 numbers) in 1942.and in 9 issues in 1943. From 1944 to 1946 in 12 issues and in 1947 in 5 issues. In 1956 the monthly reappeared in 12 issues per year. Samuil Marshak was its founder and first editior. The Magzine published literary works, informative articles, essays on art, humorous material and more. At various times the magazine was the organ of the Central Committee of the Komsomol: the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League
