Korovin graduated in 1938 from the graphic department of the Moscow Surikov Institute of Art where he had studied under P. Pavlinov, K. Istomin and S. Rodionov. During the war he fought in Karelia. In 1946 he became a member of the USSR Union of Artists. He worked as a painter, illustrator, and water colorist.
