Bibigon, the last fairy tale Chukovskii wrote, was published in issues of the magazine Murzilka from no. 11, 1945 to no. 7, 1946 with illustrations by V.Konashevich. The main character is the tiny boy Bibigon who has all kinds of adventures before he can save his sister Cincinela, kept prisoner on the moon. The publication of the story was stopped because of the heavy ideological criticism led by Andrei Zhdanov. The tale was published as a separate book in 1956 (this edition), but it was not fully published until 1963 under the title Bibigon's adventures, illustrated by Mai Miturich (see inv. no. 10097).
