Kiaulenas studied from 1928 to 1934 at the Kaunas Art School, from 1934 to 1937 at the Rome Academy of Fine Arts, and from 1937 to 1942 at the Paris School of Decorative Arts. In 1946 he emigrated to the USA and settled in 1952 in New York.
