Died Leningrad, 5 February 1942

Karev studied at Saratov Icon Painting School, at rthe Bogoliubov Art School, and at the Penza Art School. He participated with the exhibitions of the Golden Fleece Art group. He is best known as a painter and teacher of Landscapes. He died of hunger during the siege of Leningrad.
