Kandinsky spent his childhood in
Odessa. He studied Law at the Moscow University and taught at the
University op Dorpat. In 1896 Kandinsky settled in Munich and studied at
the Azbe Art School. After the outbreak of the war, Kandinsky returned
to Moscow. After the revolution he was involved in the new government
but did not agree with the new art theories. In 1921 he returned to
Germany and taught at the Bauhaus school of art and architecture. In
1933 he moved to France and became in 1939 a French citizen.
