Ino (born Petr Vladimirovich Vycherzhanin) was the son of Vl. Levitskii and the stepson of S. Chekhonin. He studied in Petrograd and worked as a designer for the State porcelain factory. In 1927 he left for Paris, were he mainly worked as a surrealist painter and graphic artist.
