Gritchenko studied 1905-1912
philology and biology in Kiev , St. Petersburg,
and Moscow. In 1910-1911 he studied in Moscow
under K. Iuon and I. Mashkov. In 1912 he was a
member of Bubnovyi Valet, in 1913-14 of the Union
of the Youth. In 1917 he
joined the Mir Iskusstva
movement. In 1918 he taught at the
Moscow SVOMAS. In 1919 he went to
Sebastopol and from there to Constantinople. In 1921 he settled in Paris. In 1924 he move to the south of France
and lived in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
