Iwan Turgeniew Die erste Liebe First Love Berlin: Propyläen- Verlag, 1923 331 x 264 mm. 104 pages. Edition: 50 Copy nr. 28

First love with 21 lithographs, for which Grigoriev made the drawings, was printed in an edition of 300 signed copies, of which the first 50 copies were bound in full leather. The other copies had a hardcover designed by Hugo Steiner-Prag. The illustrations are closely linked to the text and interspersed between the text rather than on separate pages. The simple line drawings are reminiscent of the Raseia head- and tailpieces. The price of the book was considerable. The full leather edition of 50 copies was already sold out by 1925; the half leather edition of 250 copies could then still be purchased for 36 Marks.
