Viktor Umnov (born 1931) is a painter, graphic (book) artist and writer. In 1983 he created a book of aphorisms which he uses in his works. In this book his texts, placed horizontally by Goppe, are complemented by vertically placed texts written by Oleg Kulik (born 1961) who is a performance artist and writer. Whether this 90 degrees opposition of the texts is a typographical intervention or a translation of the actual contents is not explained. Each page with the texts is accompanied by a full page lithograph by Goppe. In all there are 10 text pages and 10 colour lithographs. The book is covered in cloth wrappers with the title printed in silk screen. Artist's copy with autograph of both the authors and the artist.
