Fotinsky, born Abram Saulovich Aizensher, studied at the Art School in Odessa and from 1904 to 1907 at the Academy in St. Petersburg. Exiled because of revolutionairy activities he went to Berlin in 1907 and to Paris in 1908. Participation to international exhibitions: 1925 in Paris and 1928 in Moscow. In the twenties he was active as illustrator for the journals Clarté and Le Monde.
