Born Ventspils (Latvia), 1955

Born in Latvia, Figurina moved with her family to Leningrad in 1969, where she studied music and engineering at the Leningrad Institute of Aircraft Instruments. She worked as teacher of classical guitar and as an engineer until 1989. She had no formal art education and joined 1981 the Leningrad nonconformist artists.
