Fedorovskii studied  from 1902 to 1907 at the Moscow Stroganov Art Institute under V. Serov and K. Korovin. In 1913-14 he worked as a stage designer for the Ballets Russes of Diaghilev. From 1929 to 1953 he worked as the chief artist of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
