Favorskaya studied at the Moscow Vkhutemas where she met her husband Ivan Ivanovich Chekmazov.  She became a teacher for painting and composition and designed together with her husband street art for the revolutionary festivals. In 1948 she was accused of formalism. She and her husband lived both and Moscow and Tarusa, a city south of Moscow
