Leningrad: Gosizdat/Molodaya gvardiya, 1928-1935

Ezh (Yozh) is an abbreviation for Ezhemesiachnyi zhurnal (Monthly journal) a children's magazine that was published from 1928 to 1930 by the Leningrad children's branch of the State Publishing House (Gosizdat), in 1931 to 1933 by the Young Guard publishers (Molodaya gvardiya), and in 1934 and 1935 by Lendetgiz. The magazine was organ of the Pioneers movements and was published in a total of 120 issues. Marshak was the nominal editor of Ezh [Hedgehog] and in 1930 also of Chizh [Siskin]. The artistic editor was Vladimir Lebedev.
