| Essaian's father, a journlist, persihed in the Gulag at the end of 1938, before Serge was born. Het studied 1954-1960 at the Moscow Art Institute. He was interested in Russian avant-garde art and befriended Kruchenykh and Kharzhiev. In January 1970 he emigrated over Austria to Paris. |
