Nikolai, son of Adrian Ermolaev studied from 1950 to 1955 at the Moscow Art school From 1956 to 1961 he studied under A. Goncharov and  P. Zakharov at the Moscow Politechnical Institute. He worked as a designer and illustrator of children's book
