Ermilova studied philology at the Moscow university in 1914. Between 1914 and 1918 she studied at the studio's of K. Yuon and I. Mashkov. From 1919 to 1921 she worked in Simferopol at the Crimea folk arts education department. She married the artist Fedor Platov with whom she participated at the 1932 exhibition of 15 years artists of the RSFSR in Moscow. In 1949 she was excluded from the Moscow Union of artists.
