This series of publications is dedicated to the artists of the children's book of the USSR from 1945 to 1991. Reference material is listed alphabetically by the artists' last names. The aim of this encyclopaedia is to show as fully as possible the legacy of book artists and illustrators There are many reproductions of book covers, illustrations, decorative elements, original drawings, as well as portraits and biographies of the artists. To date 6 (out of 12) volumes have been published. The editor-in-Chief is the academic Sergei V. Chistobaev, professor of art and art history at the St. Petersburg Art Academy.
