Chernyshov had no formal education but studied privately in the Library of Literature from Foreign Countries in Moscow. in 1980 he emigrated to new York where he works and lives. In his work he simultaneously developed two main areas: pop art and geometric abstraction. “For me, a formal game is the basis of art, and the meaning is the secondary function of the work. Experimenting with pure geometric shapes was my job from the start.”
