Chekrygin studied from 1906 to 1910 icon painting at the Pechorskaia lavra in Kiev. From 1910 to 1914 he studied at the Moscow School for Painting, Sc ulpture and Architecture where he came acquainted with Tatlin, Burliuk, Maiakovskii and other artists. Between 1914 and 1920 he travelled between Moscow, Kiev and Warsaw and met with Malevich and Exter. In 1921 he was active as a founder of the group Makovets. He died in an accident. |
