Karl Bulla, father of the Russian photo-reporting, worked from the 1880's until summer 1917 in St. Petersburg, when he left Russia. In the early 1900s, Karl Bulla photographed scenes of civic interest as well as prominent figures such as author Leo Tolstoy. He taught photography to his sons, Viktor and Aleksandr, who also became photographers. |
