Brodskii studied at the Odessa Art School, before he settled in Petrograd in 1923. He immediately became actively involved in the creation of a special art for workers, developing the basics of schooling amateur artists. Brodsky worked from 1929 to 1936 as director of Isoram and heading the department of decoration and posters.
