After the revolution Bielkine left Russia through the Balkans for Berlin, London and Paris. From November 1924 he lived in Haarlem, the Netherlands. He designed graphics for advertisements and caricatures for Journals. In 1933 he became Dutch citizen en married the Dutch actress Mies Elout. He exhibited in 'Russische grafiek en tekeningen', the Hague June 1924; 'Wladimir Bielkine e.a.' in 'Kunst van Onzen Tijd', the Hague January 1936and July 1937. For health-reasons he went after the war to live in Switzerland. After 1950 no longer worked as an artist but started working for the United Nations as a guide in the Palais des Nations in Geneva. He died while on holiday on the Gran Canary Islands. |
