Berendgof studied 1921-22 in the studios of K. Korovin and N. Krymov and 1925-1926 at the Moscow Vkhutemas under L. Bruni and K. Istomin. He worked mainly as an illustrator for literary works but did also some children's book illustrations. He lived and worked in Moscow.
