Nadia Benois was the daughter of the architect Leonti (Louis) Benois (1856-1928). She is the niece of Alexandre Benois. She studied 1914-1918 under Jakovlev and Shukhaev . In 1920 she married the English journalist Iona Ustinov. She lived and worked in London.
