Beloff started her education in painting at evening courses. She studied 1904-1907 at the Academy in Saint Petersburg and from 1909 in Paris where she took lessons under Matisse and Anglada Camazasa. In 1910 she returned for a short period to Russia but returned to Paris where she married Diego Riviera. Since 1912 she exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Independants -where she had in 1926 a retrospective- and the Salon des Tuileries. In 1932 she left for Mexico City. Her paintings are foremost landscapes, flowers and portraits. She worked mainly as an illustrator. |
