Arapov  studied in 1921and 1922 at the Saratov Art School under V.M. Iustistskii. In 1923 he lived and worked in Moscow. In 1925 he had a guest roll in a theatre play and went to Warshaw from where he left for Paris and never returned to the S.U. In1929 he married Catharine Green, an American, and in 1930 the left for Boston where he lived and worked.
