Alfeevskii attended the studios of M. Leblan and I. Mashkov. He studied 1925-1930 at the Moscow Vkhutein under Osmerkin, Mashkov and Shterenberg. From 1930 onwards he worked with the Moscow publihing houses for children's books and became and Honoured Artist of the RSFSR.
