Painter and printmaker. In 1919 he graduated from art-industrial Fan der Flit School in Pskov. He studied at the higher artistic-technical Institute in Petrograd. From 1922 onwards he was a member of the Pskov regional association of artists. In 1925 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of arts. He returned to Pskov where he was involved in the city's artistic life. He worked as an artist for Pskov's newspapers and illustrated also books but his main job was art-teacher.
