Акимов, Николай Павлович

Born Kharkov, 16 April 1901

Died Moscow, 6 September 1968

Akimov studied until 1915 at the School for Drawing in St. Petersburg and until 1918 at the sudios of Dobujinsky and Shukaev. He started working as a theatrical designer in Kharkov and returned to Petrograd in 1922 where he worked as a book illustrator. In the early 1930 he designed film sets and became film director.
