Aboev studied 1947-1951 at the Ordzhonikidze art school under Goncharov and Chekmazov and 1952-1957 at the Graphics Department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. In 1957 he began working for the State Children's book publishing houses. Aboev left in February 2000 his studio in Moscow and was never seen again.
